About this project

BDC has successfully secured the necessary approvals for numerous highway retaining structures, achieving Approval in Principle (AIP) sign-offs from various local Highway Authorities.

Working closely with the relevant authorities, we determine the classification of each structure and collaborate with the client to agree on the preferred construction method. This could include a masonry gravity wall, reinforced concrete wall, or sheet piling, depending on project requirements and site conditions.

As part of the AIP process, we prepare and compile comprehensive design statements, define key parameters, and produce outline scheme drawings that illustrate the scope of work and the proposed structural solution. These submissions form the foundation for obtaining initial approvals.

Following AIP approval, we develop detailed design calculations to validate the chosen solution. We also prepare general arrangement and reinforcement drawings as required, submitting these technical documents to the local authority to progress the approval process. This ensures a smooth transition to the construction phase, where the designed works are implemented.
