Nexus Park

About this project

BDC was engaged on the Nexus Park project from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 6, providing comprehensive Civil and Structural Engineering services. This included offering advice on early conceptual designs and layouts, exploring structural form options, and assisting in the preparation of pre-planning drawings and reports. The scope extended to the detailed design of civil and structural works and continued support throughout the construction phase.

The final development featured a three-story office building covering approximately 3,700m², complete with on-site parking and infrastructure, situated on a sloping greenfield site. The structure utilised a braced steel frame with composite floors, supported by piled foundations. A standout architectural element was the floating cantilever staircase within a glazed atrium, which required innovative engineering solutions to bring the design to life and achieve the architect’s vision.
